Jessie on a Journey
The image depicts a colorful and vibrant display of traditional Bhutanese cuisine served on various dishes placed on a rug with an intricate pattern of red, black, and yellow designs reminiscent of Bhutanese textiles. The dishes include a bowl of steamed rice, a plate of fried golden potatoes or meat dumplings, a bowl filled with what appears to be a sautéed vegetable dish, another bowl containing a green leafy vegetable sautéed with spices, and a plate of grilled or roasted vegetables or meat. The variety of dishes showcases the diversity of ingredients and flavors in Bhutanese cuisine, with a focus on locally grown vegetables, dairy products, and imported meats. The presentation highlights the rich cultural heritage and traditional dining experience in Bhutan.

Savoring Bhutanese Cuisine and Culture

The food isn't the reason you'll travel to #Bhutan -- the reason would be the well-preserved culture and heritage and the stunning #landscapes of mountains and 72% forest. That being said, I do love how every meal comes with rice and an array of #colorful dishes to try, mainly locally-grown veggies and locally-produced cheeses (most meat is imported from India due to Bhutan's predominantly #Buddhist beliefs). Here I am savoring a meal at Divine Restaurant in #Lobesa, which I highly recommend for lunch before heading to the Temple of the Divine Madman. You can learn more about him and how he slayed demons with his powerful #phallus and had sex with many women (including a nun, whom he impregnated) to help spread #positive energy in an unconventional way.
