Jessie on a Journey
A picturesque seaside village nestled around a tranquil bay on the Mediterranean coast. The village is built on the slopes of rugged, rocky cliffs that rise up from the water's edge. The buildings are tightly clustered together, with narrow streets and alleyways winding between them. The architecture is a mix of traditional Mediterranean styles, with whitewashed walls, tiled roofs, and colorful shutters adorning the houses. At the center of the scene is a small, sandy beach surrounded by large boulders and rocky outcroppings. The clear, turquoise waters of the bay are inviting, with a few people swimming or wading near the shore. In the background, a towering peak rises up, providing a dramatic backdrop to the idyllic scene.

Quaint Mediterranean Village

After hiking in Marseille's Calanques National Park -- specifically summiting Marseilleveyre Peak -- I trekked down to the beautiful Port des Goudes. In the small village of Les Goudes everyone seemed to know each other. In fact, my hiking guide took me to his friend Nicolas' house for refreshments -- a mug of Provençal rose, of course. During the 40 minutes there Nicolas ran outside to say hi to three different locals passing by. It was a fun look into local life!
