Jessie on a Journey
A breathtaking landscape of snow-capped mountains and rolling hills in the distance, with a cluster of traditional Mongolian gers (yurts) dotting the grassy foreground. The gers are made of felt and wood, with vibrant blue roofs contrasting against the earthy tones of the surrounding terrain. A small stream or pond is visible, reflecting the cloudy sky. The scene exudes a sense of tranquility and isolation, offering a glimpse into the nomadic lifestyle of Mongolia's remote regions.

Off the Beaten Path in Mongolia

But, why Mongolia? 🤔 This is 99% of the responses I get when I share that I’ll be heading to Mongolia in June for a hiking/biking trip, going to places so remote they aren’t even on a map. ⛰️ Which is really the answer to the question and the *why* for the trip. ✈️ While I love popular destinations, some of my favorite trips have been hiking to remote villages in the Annapurna Himalayas of Nepal and exploring trails and temples in Bhutan. 🥾 When it comes to travel, my absolute favorite trips are the ones that immerse me in experiences I haven't had before, in places that have barely been touched by tourism. 🥰 It makes me feel grateful for the opportunity to see a place in a more authentic light, allowing the destination to *happen* to me without any preconceived notions of what to expect. 🙏 Do you enjoy visiting less-explored places? 🌏#BeyondTheGuidebook
