Hiking to Tiger's Nest Monastery in Bhutan
One not-to-miss experience in #Bhutan: hiking to the Tiger's Nest Monastery from Paro. The Tiger’s Nest was founded in the 8th century, though wasn’t built until the late 17th century by the fourth ruler of Bhutan, Gyalse Tenzin Rabgye. It was built into the rock because this is where Padmasambhava (the Second Buddha) subdued the demon named Belgye Singye. The hike is challenging -- two hours almost straight uphill -- but the spiritual spot combined with the aerial views make it completely worth it.
