Jessie on a Journey
A man wearing a plaid shirt and red shorts stands on a rocky outcrop, gazing out at the panoramic view before him. The sky is filled with billowing clouds, some thin and wispy, others thick and fluffy, contrasting against the deep blue backdrop. In the distance, a towering plume of steam or smoke rises, suggesting the presence of a nearby volcano. The man's expression is one of awe and wonder, taking in the breathtaking natural scenery surrounding him.

Hiking Masaya Volcano in Nicaragua

No Rush Tours in #Nicaragua aims to provide an uber local experience that weaves in “history, vulcanology and sights and makes guests feel like they’re traveling with a family member — not a bad family member, of course.” Our first stop of our day #trip from #Granada is #Masaya Volcano National Park, one of 76 protected areas in Nicargua (aka 18.2% of the country’s national territory). It’s Nicaragua’s first and largest #NationalPark with two volcanoes, five craters, heights reaching 2,067 feet above sea level, an underground tunnel made from lava, and the opportunity to hike or drive the volcano rim — the only place in the Western Hemisphere this is possible. Steam billows up from the various craters, making it clear why the Spaniards called Masaya “La Boca del Infierno” or “The Mouth of #Hell.” Have you ever hiked a #volcano?
