Ger Homestay in Mongolian Altai Mountains

A ger homestay in the Altai Mountains of Mongolia ✨ After landing in Ulgii, we drive 5 hours through the stunning Altai Mountain region to reach our ger homestay with Asker, Ahgul, and their children - including Aigerim, one of only 3 female eagle hunters in the province. ⛰️ Their property is surrounded by jagged snow-capped peaks, with a crystal clear river running behind 4 gers (similar to yurts) and yaks, cows, goats, and horses grazing out front. 🐎 Not only is the setting breathtaking, but the family's hospitality warms the icy mountain air. Our @WhoaTravel group is welcomed in with hot milk tea, given a feast (including Beshbarmak - a Kazakh dish of boiled meat and noodles meant to be eaten with the hands), invited to play card games and volleyball with the kids, and educated about how Aigerim & Asker hunt using eagles. 🦅 The father-daughter duo also takes us hiking through the Altai Mountains, showing us some of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen in my life. 😍 Swipe right 👉 for a glimpse into this incredible experience! Have you ever done a homestay? 🛖
