Exploring Long Island Wine Country
One must-experience day trip from NYC that many neglect to have: exploring Long Island wine country. I'm originally from Long Island, so my family and I do this trip often. There are over 50 wine producers in the region, many on the North Fork Wine Trail. Drive down Sound Avenue and you'll be rewarded with tasting rooms almost every 300 feet, as well as homemade pie shops (don't miss Briermere Farms!), produce stands, antique stores and whimsical farmland scenery.
There are also numerous opportunities for fun photographs, as you can see above. This was taken at Lenz Winery (@lenzwine) in a small tunnel with awesome backlighting. Some of my other favorite wine tasting stops in the region include @sparklingpointe, @pindarvineyards, @coffeepotcellars and @harbesfarm.
Stay tuned for a blog post on jessieonajourney.com about Long Island Wine Country in the near future!
