Defend Human Rights with Letter Writing

USE YOUR WRITING TO DEFEND HUMAN RIGHTS IN JANUARY. (please share!) ✍️👇 As a community of global citizens, we should be committed to defending human rights. And right now, I want to share an easy way to do this in January. It's free and you don't have to leave home! 👏 As some of you may know, I volunteer with Amnesty International and am part of their Group 11 in NYC. One of AI's big annual events is Write 4 Rights, a global letter-writing campaign where supporters around the world write millions of letters for those whose basic human rights are being attacked. 📮 For instance, by writing letters you'll be helping to seek justice for a Nassima al-Sada (pictured here) who was imprisoned for her work defending women’s rights in Saudi Arabia, students who suffered police brutality for peacefully celebrating LGBTI+ PRIDE in Turkey, and more. 😔 Want to help? 👇 1) Swipe up in my Instagram Stories or Google "AIUSA Group 11 – NYC" and click the "Write 4 Rights" campaign to read the cases. You can also go to the main Amnesty International site for additional cases. ✳️ 2) Download, print, and sign the letters, or you can write your own letters in your own words. ✳️ 3) Mail the letters to the address on the letter. ✳️ 4) Report the letters by country directly to info@aiusagroup11.org. ✳️ Deadline: All letters must be sent in by January 31, 2021. 🌍 Let's kick off 2021 by using our writing to help create meaningful change in the world. #Write4Rights #W4R2020
