Jessie on a Journey
A striking and thought-provoking art installation is presented. A large, vibrant red splatter adorns the white walls, resembling a torrent of blood unleashed across the space. At the center, a pedestal holds a sculptural form – a bronze or metallic frog figure, its mouth agape, appearing to disgorge the very crimson stream that surrounds it. The macabre yet captivating scene evokes a sense of visceral emotion, inviting contemplation on the deeper symbolism and narrative it conveys.

During my time exploring the Spinnerei Galleries I saw a lot of thought-provoking, contemporary and avant-garde art. For example, in #Leipzig’s oldest gallery, Eigen + Art (open since 1983, when it was an underground gallery in the GRD), a #frog sat on a pedestal, spewing fake red blood all over white walls to re-enact Gustave Flaubert’s The Legend of Saint Julien the Hospitalier, in a piece by Remy Markowitsch. #germany #travel #art Read more: http://jessieonajourney.com/leipzig/
