Tick Encounter: A Reminder to Stay Vigilant

Jeremiah had an unwanted hitch hiker that needed to be taken care of quickly🕷 ⠀ We have always heard to be careful with ticks but have not ever dealt with them before. I noticed a mole on Jeremiah's neck that wasn't there before and tried to wipe it off thinking it was mud. Definitely wasn't mud 😱 ⠀ We did a quick Google search and watched a few videos on how to properly remove the tick. 5 minutes later it was removed and in a plastic bag and we washed his neck. ⠀ It was a male dog tick according to the internet. We will keep a close eye on him over the next few days. Kind of scary how easily it got on him.
