Road Schooling: Learning Through Adventure

Tell me and I'll forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I learn ~ Benjamin Franklin Road schooling may be a new term you've heard, it was for us when we hit the road. It is learning on the road while your travel. It can look like learning about specific historical events that took place in the location you are traveling to. It could be researching the rock formations that are found locally. Our most recent example of road schooling is learning about the wildlife that can be found in the Keys. What's better than seeing them in real life! The marina at our campground is home to a Manatee and calf, Nurse Sharks, Jelly Fish, Crabs, Iguanas, and a ton of fish. Each day we take a stroll and find a new creature to research. It's been so much fun! I love when my kids share the information they learned with others and their excitement about is contagious (in a good way 😉) I challenge you to tip a toe in Road schooling on your next road trip, weekend adventure, or next location. You will be amazing by what your kids (and you) learn.
