Recovering Perfectionist Mom: Q&A on Life as a Nomad
Kaylee here 👋 I'm the voice behind these posts.
I am a recovering perfectionist. I am a scheduler by nature and I love lists! I homeschool the kids, work part-time as an engineer, and run our social media pages and vlog.
I am an avid reader and usually pick motivational, business, or self-help books. If you have a book recommendation, let me know!
Time for those questions:
Q1: Do you ever feel like you're missing out on alone time with Steve?
A: No, we are very intentional about keeping us a priority and making the time.
Q2: Is homeschooling really difficult?
A: The first 2 months were very rough for us because we were all new to it and didn't know what to expect. This second year of homeschooling has been night and day difference. We love it!
Q3: What's your favorite adult beverage?
A: I actually don't drink and have have been sober for over 1 year. I use to like wine.
Q3: Did you feel overwhelmed moving from house to rig?
A: Absolutely and it took us a good 4 months to completely settle into our new lifestyle. My biggest tip is the purge, evaluate the stuff, purge again, evaluate, and purge one more time. It's amazing the stuff you really don't need. We continue to purge things every few months.
Q4: What would be your #1 tip for new full timers?
A: Give yourself time to adjust to the change and you are not on vacation!
Q5: How long will you be nomadic?
A: Originally we had a one year plan now we plan to go until we don't want to anymore.
Q6: Favorite type of campground and where?
A: With hookups and activities for the kids. Key West at Fiesta Key Thousand Trail was amazing and beautiful!
