Exploring Outside the 303
A scenic image captures a breathtaking view of towering sandstone cliffs and rock formations in a desert landscape, likely in Zion National Park. The distinctive red and orange hues of the layered sedimentary rocks create a striking contrast against the partly cloudy sky. A winding road snakes through the foreground, with a black pickup truck parked on its shoulder. A man wearing a red shirt and shorts stands on the road, taking in the majestic vista. The image conveys a sense of adventure and exploration amidst the rugged beauty of the American Southwest.

Exploring Zion Beyond the Shuttle

Exploring Zion without the Shuttle (Save this for later) After our first day in Zion, we were turned off by the crowds and wanted a different experience. We decided to drive and explore the other parts of the park where the shuttle doesn't go. We use @alltrails to find local hikes as we travel and it was a gold mine when it came to finding hikes in and around Zion. Less crowded Hikes that don't require a shuttle ticket: ⛰️ Zion Canyon Overlook Trail: 1 mile in/out trail that is very popular with amazing views, some narrow parts, and family friendly (see my Reel from earlier this week for the view) ⛰️ Northgate Peaks Trail: 6 mile loop trail located in middle canyon area on Kolob Terrace Rd. We didn't get to hike this fully due to weather but it was beautiful. The drive to the hike was stunning. ⛰️ Lower Clear Creek (The Hobbit Hole): 1.3 mile in/out trail that is family friendly with slot canyons. (We didn't get to hike this but heard great reviews about it) We loved driving the middle canyon area towards Kolob Reservoir and would highly recommend it to anyone trying to stay away from the crowds. ❓Have you been to Zion? What's your favorite hike❓ 1 📸 Kolob Terrace 2 📸 Zion Canyon Overlook Trail 3 📸 Zion Canyon Overlook Trail @exploringoutsidethe303 @exploringoutsidethe303 @exploringoutsidethe303 @ Zion National Park
