Exploring Yellowstone Lake

Blessed are the curious for they have adventures. ⠀ Yellowstone Lake is a natural lake and is 136 square miles with 110 miles of shoreline. In winter the ice thickens to nearly 3ft and covers most of the lake expect near the hot springs 😲 ⠀ This lake was incredible. We came in from the east side and came to an overpass with spectacular views of it. The water is too cold to swim in because it is snow runoff but we did put a hand in to see exactly how cold it was. ⠀ At West Thumb there is a beautiful boardwalk that showcases a few of the hot springs that dump into the lake and some that are under the water. This was our last spot on day 1 and we were there at sunset. The views were spectular and it felt like looking out into the ocean because the lake is so massive. ⠀ ❓Have you been to Yellowstone lake and touched the cold snow runoff❓
