Embracing the RV Lifestyle: A Year's Journey of Growth
A year ago we took our trailer out for her maiden voyage in Colorado. It snowed 🥶 and we froze our butts off because we were not prepared. We had a 10 day trip planned over spring break in AZ and we wanted to have a practice run. .
.
We had told most everyone about our fulltime RV plans and we started getting the house ready to sell. When I think back to what I was feeling a year ago, I feel that excitement and scared out of my mind feeling all over 😬. I'm a planner and everything up until this point was only written on paper and dreamt about. That big dream was comfortable in my head and when the real work began I definitely had a few moments of questioning if this is *really* what we wanted to do. .
.
We worked 5 weeks straight on the house, evenings and weekends. I started transitioning in my job, and we started purging everything. A lot of emotions are tied to possessions I quickly found out, and it wasn't with the big items either. My emotions were tied to small things like books and clothes. We ended up keeping 10 boxes worth of things and the rest we sold, gave away, or donated. .
.
Looking back, I see us pushing through the uncertainty and fears. We followed through with our plan and have no regrets! We love traveling and exploring the country 🌎💫. The growth within the kids is incredible, the deeper connection with Steve is more then I could ask for, and the memories already made are worth it. Stepping outside our comfort zone has changed us forever, I am excited to see what the future holds.
