Exploring Outside the 303

August Travel Expenses: California, Nevada, and Back to Colorado

Fulltime Travel Family Budget 💸 We wrapped up our tour of California and headed to Nevada to surprise Steve's Dad for his birthday in the middle of August in Nevada (yes, it was crazy hot 🥵). We took advantage of being near Las Vegas and used our timeshare to beat the heat at the pool. We made our way back to CO but due to a massive mudslide, we drove through AZ and NM to get back. "Rent" Thousand Trails Resort: 10 nights RV Resort: 4 nights State Park: 7 nights Timeshare: 6 nights Home Park: 2 nights RPI: 1 night Rent: $444 Cost per night: $14.80 🏞️ We paid to stay at a casino in Nevada for the birthday surprise. Also, we stayed at Chatfield State Park in CO to be close to our families and for Dr's visits. "Food" Groceries: $930 Restaurants: $932 🍴 I can't believe we ate out this much 😳 For September we plan to not eat out at all and see how it effects the overall budget. "Fuel" Total Miles ~2,515 Towed Miles: 1,795 Fuel Cost: $1,169 Days Traveled: 6 States: California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado 🚐 We covered a lot of ground especially with the reroute to get to CO via the south. "Entertainment" Activities: $250 🎭 The kids and I went horseback riding in Santa Barbara. Steve and I played a round of golf in Nevada with some family. There you have it, our budget in all its glory. It is not so pretty this month, I am shocked by a few numbers. We are working through some plans on ways to cut some areas, starting with food and fuel costs. The less we move the less fuel is needed. No eating out in September! What is one area you can trim your budget? Happy Exploring! 🏕️@exploringoutsidethe303 🏕️@exploringoutsidethe303 🏕️@exploringoutsidethe303
