Wright Brothers First Flight Monument

Did you know that the world’s first successful flight took place, right here, in North Carolina?!!✈️ The Wright Brothers chose the Outer Banks for the steady winds, high sand dunes, and remote location. They experimented with kites, gliders, and eventually the first plane! The first flight occurred in 1903 and this monument was erected in 1932, in honor of the Wright Brothers and their incredible accomplishment.👏 It was so fascinating to be in the exact location of this historical moment and teach my kids about a story that changed the world!🌎 Have you been here before? ➡️Follow @eastcoast.blondies for more travel inspiration!
