Alcatraz Island Tour: What to Expect

Touring Alcatraz: Know before you go! One of the things our family was looking forward to, on our trip to San Francisco, was visiting the abandoned island of Alcatraz, once a federal prison housing some of the most dangerous felons. The place is just as eerie and fascinating as it sounds! Here is what you can expect on a day tour… ✨Ferry Ride to Alcatraz: It’s about a 15 min ride. There are seats inside or you can stand on the deck outside, to enjoy the views. ✨Once you get there, you’ll receive headphones for the audio tour that will guide you through jail cells, library, cafeteria, and more. ✨Length of time: The tour takes about 2-3 hours. You can go at your own pace, so you can stay longer if you want.
