Travel Tips for Driving to Rocky Point, Mexico

🇲🇽 𝙈𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙘𝙤: 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙤! Here are a few more helpful tips, especially if you are driving🚙 rather than flying into Mexico. Save this for future travels! 𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙙. We drove to Puerto Peñasco (also known as “Rocky Point”) where we stayed in the Laguna Shores Resort. 𝘾𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧. We crossed the Lukeville , Arizona border and drove about an hour more to get to our resort. ✨𝙎𝙖𝙛𝙚𝙩𝙮 𝙏𝙞𝙥𝙨✨ 1️⃣ Take it really slow, even slower than the speed limit once you first cross the border. There are several policemen in the area. The speed limit is measured in kilometers per hour rather than miles per hour, so understanding the conversions are important. 2️⃣ You can get car insurance for Mexico from your regular car insurance at a daily rate in case anything happens. It can also be purchased in the city of Why, Arizona on the way to the border. 3️⃣ Don’t wander around late at night. This was our first time to Rocky Point and many people told us as long as we stay close to the resort at night, we’ll be fine. Because we have kids, we stuck to that advice and felt totally safe the whole time.
