✨Tips for traveling with teens✨ ✈️ Let them be involved in the planning process. They will have a lot more fun if they have invested time and ideas into the itinerary. What can you give them to work on? Sometimes I will have my kids choose the activities we do in certain locations or be in charge of finding accommodations within a certain price range. ✈️ Decide how much they can be on phones in advance, so once you’re there it is clear what the plan is. We like our kids to be fully present on vacation and since phones can be very distracting, we try to set them aside during the day (except for photos and videos). Then at the end of the day, we usually let them have a bit of down time to get on phones. ✈️ Make sure you stop for meals at the same time you normally would if you were home. No one wants a “hangry” teenager, so sticking to a meal time that they’re used to is best. Honestly this really goes for the whole family! Everyone is much more patient and has more energy when there’s food in their bellies. We also like to pack snacks or find somewhere fun to grab a bite in between meals. ✈️ Have fun together!! Travel should be exciting and not taken too seriously. Even if there’s a busy itinerary, make it fun and interesting for each of the kids. You know them best, so make time for the things you know will make the trip extra special for them. Create an atmosphere of fun and laughter, where everyone feels loved and included.
