The Inn at Rodanthe Movie House
Send this to another Nicholas Sparks fan!💖
The house featured in the movie “Nights in Rodanthe” (based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel of the same name) is known as the “Inn at Rodanthe.” It’s a real house located in Rodanthe, a small village on Hatteras Island in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
In the film, the house is portrayed as a charming bed-and-breakfast where the main characters stay and develop their relationship. The house is iconic for its dramatic setting right on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, with waves crashing near its stilts, emphasizing the isolation and intensity of the story.
Interestingly, after the movie’s release, the real house became quite famous and was nearly destroyed by coastal erosion due to its precarious location close to the ocean. To preserve it, the house was moved back from the shoreline in 2010 to protect it from further damage.
Today, it is a popular tourist attraction, with fans of the movie and Nicholas Sparks’ work visiting to see the iconic site where the romance unfolds. The house has also been restored and decorated and is currently being used as a vacation rental, so you have to rent it to see the inside. Otherwise, you can see it from the beach like me😉
