Reenacting the Wright Brothers' First Flight
✨Pose like the statues!✨~ At the Wright Brothers Memorial, there are life-size statues of the moment the world’s first plane took flight. Orville Wright is hanging onto the lower wing, while controlling the direction of the plane.✈️ His brother Wilbur is running 🏃 with his arms wide open, as the plane passes by. John Daniels is taking the photo 📸 that captured this historical event, and other witnesses are depicted in the scene. There is also a metal sculpture of the plane that you can climb onto and get a closer look. What a fantastic way to bring this story to life! 🤩
Of course we couldn’t leave without being apart of the action and mimicking that great moment. I’m so happy my family is willing to go with my silly ideas and get into it🤣 That’s what makes family trips so much fun!!
Do you like to take your kids to museums? How do you help hold their interest?
**There is also an indoor museum at this location, stone markers set at each distance the plane flew for the first 4 flights, and a monument built in honor of the Wright Brothers. Location: Kill Devil Hills, Outer Banks, NC. (Save for future travels!)
