Living Sand Dunes in North Carolina's Outer Banks

Did you know that the largest living sand dune on the Atlantic Coast is in North Carolina?๐Ÿคฉ The reason it is known as โ€œlivingโ€ is because the wind is constantly blowing the sand and shifting the landscape. Itโ€™s a great place to go for some family fun, with amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean ๐ŸŒŠ and Roanoke Sound. Also, itโ€™s an easy place to social distance, which is nice for times like these๐Ÿ˜‰ โ™ฅ (Save this post for info) โ™ฅ ๐™’๐™๐™š๐™ง๐™š ๐™–๐™ง๐™š ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š ๐™™๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™š๐™จ? Summer brings a southwest wind that blows it in one direction and winter brings a northeast wind that blows it in the other direction, keeping the dunes from blowing away entirely! โžก๏ธFollow @eastcoast.blondies for more travel inspiration!โœจ
