5 Ways to Prioritize Your Relationship Over Phones
Try these 5 ways to disconnect, so you can reconnect:
❤️ Establish Phone-Free Times: Designate certain times when both partners agree to put away their phones. For us, that’s meal times and date nights. These are great times to connect, have fun, and communicate.
❤️ Look at Each Other When Communicating: If you are on the phone and your spouse asks you a question or starts a conversation, set the phone down and look them in the eyes. Let them know they are a priority.
❤️ Turn Off Notifications: Disable non-essential notifications to reduce the impulse to check your phone constantly.
❤️ Engage in Shared Activities: Spend time doing activities together that you both enjoy, whether it’s cooking, exercising, or watching a movie, without the interruption of phones.
❤️Set Time Limits: What apps do you spend the most time on? Set time limits on those particular ones in your settings, so it automatically restricts usage when your time is up.
How do you balance the use of phones while still prioritizing your relationship?
As a content creator, I especially feel like a good balance is necessary. Even filming this video, we planned a designated time when we created several videos, then set our phones aside and moved on with our day. Planning ahead is key!
