Visit to Loko Ea Farms
Tucked away off Kam highway in Haleiwa is a quaint, family run operation known as @lokoea.farms. Noe, one of the owners who I had the pleasure meeting, gave us the grand tour and taught us about Hawaiian agriculture. We discussed everything from the impact of recent policy changes on Oahu, to how to properly pick up a chicken. If you’d like to go on this tour venture over to their instagram or website to see their openings. It was not only a fun adventure, but a tasty one too. It’s so nice to be around someone who has the customers wellbeing first- which is exactly what their food provides. Their main objective is to always bring their produce straight from the farm to your table.
Did you know one of the best ways to support local is by purchasing directly from the supplier or at farmers markets? Check them out online at www.lokoeafarms.wixsite.com Most local farms have their fruit sold at markets such as Whole Foods.
