Traditional Japanese Temple Experience
We took off our shoes, stored away our belongings, became closer to the earth and felt the bitter air against our faces. One by one we climbed the rusted spiral staircase with each level providing a better view of the city. Finally at the top we entered a dim candle lit room with small medallions flashing their golden light on one large statue of an unsung hero. It wasn’t a fun tour nor was it exciting. It was peaceful and insightful. See you again next year, Japan.
