One Year Fitness Journey

It’s been a full year since I started my diet! In March of 2020 I was 196 pounds and a full year later I’m weighing in at 176! I got all the way down to 170 and then started putting on muscle until I found myself at a weight that I felt good & healthy at. For the majority of the year I would track all of my macros. Every food I ate I would weigh on my food scale and use my fitness pal to track the amount of calories I was eating. I averaged about 1,600 calories per day for 8 months and then around 2,100 calories after that. I certainly missed plenty of days but between weighing my food, drinking mostly water and exercising I was able to do it. There were lots of temptations but by having my meals planned out, having friends to work out with & doing workouts/activities I enjoyed it made it much easier to follow. Most importantly to anyone else embarking on a similar journey, I couldn’t have done it alone. Get yourself a good accountability group and friends that will keep you to it.
