It is 25 miles and goes between Silverton and Ouray. Why it has its name is unknown but it is thought to cost a million dollars per mile to build. When you go over Red Mountain Pass you will reach 11,018 feet in elevation. Driving this road requires going slow and at times it will be closed due to safety risk.
