A green sea turtle glides gracefully through crystal clear turquoise waters, surrounded by vibrant coral reefs. The turtle's shell is intricately patterned with shades of brown and gray, its flippers propelling it effortlessly. Small schools of colorful fish dart around the turtle, undisturbed by its presence. The scene captures the serene beauty of the underwater world, a realm where these ancient creatures thrive.

How does a turtle know which divers to swim with and which ones to flee from? I swam with this one for at least 30 minutes. But others have bolted as soon as I approach. Is it our moods? Their moods? . I think it may be centered around respect. We’re visitors in their home, so if we treat it as such, maybe we might be invited back. The times I’ve swam for long periods of time with dolphins or turtles, it’s been less about “getting the shot” and more about enjoying where they live. Funny thing is, my best shots come when I’m not forcing it - it’s always when I’m simply enjoying the swim. 🐢#alohafilms . . . . . .
